Pianist Eric Himy, fresh off a concert tour that culminated at Carnegie Recital Hall on 10/31/11, will present a program dedicated to Franz Liszt on his 200th Anniversary Year. This concert will be audio and video recorded for CD/DVD production and you are invited to be part of the live audience. Please join Wells Pianos in this rare opportunity to participate in a live classical recording session and to celebrate the music of Franz Liszt on his 200th Anniversary Year. Eric Himy began piano studies at age six, giving his first concert at age 10. He went on to receive a Masters of Music degree from the famed Juilliard School in New York, having studied with Thomas Schumacher, Adele Marcus and Josef Villa. He was guest soloist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at age 15, and at 19 made his National Symphony Orchestra debut under High Wolff. Eric Himy went on to win numerous competitions and awards including the Gold Medal at the 1988 World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, the Kosciuszko Chopin Prize in New York, and top honors in the 1991 Milosz Magin International Competition in Paris.

The New York Times has described Eric Himy's playing as "flawlessly poised with elegance and brilliance" while The Washington Post noted his "awesome technique and musicianship." The Los Angeles Times called Eric Himy "a keyboard poet, thoughtful interpreter, and folkloric colorist." His recordings have been universally praised by such luminary publications as the BBC Music Magazine, Clavier Magazine, American Record Guide, Classics Today, and All Arts Review.
