Stringing

Stringing, although seemly mundane, is a very important process to get right. The strings need to be properly seated and or spaced, the capos surfaced, and the pins driven correctly and to the right height. In a piano you will find single wound strings, bi-chord strings and tri-chord non-wound treble wire. The “stringing scale” refers to the length and gauge of the piano wire throughout the instrument and will differ for every piano. We stock all regular Steinway scales and can duplicate any scale desired.
